Our Name

the heart behind our name

At the heart of “The Middle” is the conviction that Jesus stands at the very center of everything, heaven and earth, justice and mercy, the divine and the human story. It’s a name that reminds us that life is lived between the “already” and the “not yet,” between the grave and the glory, and yet Christ is fully present in every in-between. It’s a declaration that we do not walk through our middles, our tensions, transitions, and trials, alone. Jesus meets us there as Mediator, Sustainer, and Lord, making even the ordinary spaces sacred. To be “In the Middle” is to be anchored in the person of Christ, who holds all things together and invites us to join Him where heaven touches earth.

OUR CULTURAL CODE

OUR Creed

Church In The Middle, this isn’t just a name, it’s a confession, that ours is a faith lived in between — between the resurrection and the return, the grave and the glory, the brokenness of this world and the beauty of God’s coming kingdom. This is our cultural code, our creed: we are a people who see and treasure Christ in the middle of life’s tensions and transitions, who worship in Spirit and truth, who love across generations, and who seek His kingdom here in South Africa and beyond. Because Jesus is in the middle, we are never alone, and every middle moment becomes holy ground.
